Omeprazole Arya 20 belongs to a group of medicines called proton pump inhibitors. They work by reducing the amount of acid that your stomach produces. Omeprazole Arya 20 is used to treat the following conditions: -Duodenal ulcer Rx only: For short-term treatment of active duodenal ulcer. -Duodenal ulcer associated with Helicobacter pylori Rx only: In combination with clarithromycin to eradicate H. pylori. In patients with a 1-year history of duodenal ulcers or active duodenal ulcers, use in combination with clarithromycin and amoxicillin to eradicate H. pylori. Eradication of H. pylori has been shown to reduce the risk of duodenal ulcer recurrence. -Erosive esophagitis Rx only: For short-term treatment 4 to 8 weeks of erosive esophagitis diagnosed by endoscopy -Gastric ulcer Rx only: For short-term treatment 4 to 8 weeks of active benign gastric ulcer. -Gastroesophageal reflux disease Rx only: For the treatment of heartburn and other symptoms associated with gastroesophageal reflux disease GERD. -Heartburn nonprescription: To treat frequent heartburn occurs 2 or more days a week not intended for immediate relief. -Hyper secretory conditions: For long-term treatment of hyper secretory conditions e.g Zollinger-Ellison syndrome multiple endocrine adenomas, systemic mastocytosis.
