The 28mm Alaska neck has been designed with the purpose of reducing the overall weight of the preform and the corresponding cap for packaging non-carbonated liquids. This neck standard is similar to the PCO1810 in some key dimensions and is therefore compatible with the blow molding machines and the filling lines of PCO1810 preforms. The reduced weight of the Alaska neck preform in comparison to the PCO1810, along with the easier opening and closing of the cap (due to three separate threads of 180 degrees), have made this neck standard an ideal choice for edible oil and mineral water bottles.
