An air handling unit (AHU) is a large metal cabinet composed of several main components such as fans or blowers, cooling and heating coils, filter compartments, dampers, silencers, vibration isolators, and more. For heating, cooling, and creating positive pressure in environments that require clean air, hygienic (anti-bacterial) air handling units are used. These specialized AHUs are capable of supplying clean air with a purity level of 99.99%.
These units are essential for locations such as hospitals, operating rooms, laboratories, pharmaceutical production and packaging halls, religious sites or historical buildings with large gatherings, food production facilities, and any environment where air contamination and humidity are harmful and where sterile and ultra-clean air is required.
Hygienic AHUs manufactured by Esfahan Havasaz are produced in various models and capacities, both as single-piece and modular systems, fully compliant with international standards. Depending on the application requirements, these units are constructed from several sections. Unlike standard AHUs, all internal surfaces of the panels are made from X5CrNi 18-10 stainless steel.
Before final covering with stainless steel sheets, hygienic AHUs are sealed horizontally using antibacterial silicone to prevent water penetration into internal components during cabinet washing. A gap is intentionally created at the bottom of the silencer compartment, allowing complete washing and maintenance of sound-absorbing components-an advantage not present in standard AHUs.
