key specifications

Polyethylene pipes and fittings are widely used in pressurized water supply networks. The main and sub-main pipes in these systems are typically made from high-density polyethylene (HDPE), while the lateral pipes in drip irrigation systems, due to lower working pressures, are made from low-density polyethylene (LDPE).

Polyethylene is one of the most common materials used for manufacturing water supply pipes. These pipes are generally produced in two grades PE80 and PE100 with PE100 offering greater strength and suitability for higher pressures. The working pressure range for PE80 pipes is from 3.2 to 25 bar, while for PE100 pipes it ranges from 4 to 25 bar.
Difference Between PE100 and PE80 Polyethylene Pipes

Strength and Pressure Resistance

The strength and pressure resistance of PE100 polyethylene pipes are higher compared to PE80 pipes.

Wall Thickness

The wall thickness of PE100 pipes is lower compared to PE80 pipes, which results in reduced weight and increased water flow capacity for PE100 pipes. It should be noted that this reduced thickness does not compromise the strength of these pipes.

Temperature Resistance

PE100 pipes have higher temperature resistance compared to PE80 pipes.

Alkaline and Acid Resistance

PE100 pipes have greater resistance to alkaline and acidic environments compared to PE80 pipes.
