The side-weld drip irrigation tape, commonly referred to as T-Tape, is a type of dripline designed specifically for drip irrigation systems. It was first developed in the United States about 50 years ago. These tapes are made from polyethylene (PE) and are typically produced in coils ranging from 1,000 to 3,000 meters in length.
Unlike rigid polyethylene pipes, T-Tape is soft and highly flexible allowing it to expand when filled with water and flatten when the irrigation stops. The wall thickness of the tape is very thin, usually between 0.1 and 0.3 millimeters.
