Unfired decorative paints for ceramics, often referred to as non-fired colors, cold finishes, or bisque stains, are paints specifically formulated to adhere to ceramic surfaces (usually bisqueware) without needing to be fired in a kiln. These products are designed for decorative, artistic, and crafting purposes, allowing for colorful, detailed designs on pottery, clay, and other surfaces without the, expense, or time constraints of traditional ceramic firing. No Kiln Required: These paints dry via air-drying, making them ideal for home use, schools, and mobile, paint-your-own-pottery studios. Main Component: Most non-fired paints are high-quality, water-based acrylics, often described as opaque acrylic stains. Surface Compatibility: They are best used on bisque-fired ceramic (bisqueware), which is porous and allows the paint to adhere well.
